There is an exciting new partnership between ReCreate and the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Together, we share a common mission: to make the planet more sustainable by reusing materials stored from past exhibitions and events.
ReCreate reused more than 120 m² of posters (advertising canvas) from the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. These materials were transformed into wallets and bags, now available in the museum shop.
In 2023, ReCreate produced more than 300 pieces. Models such as the John and Peter wallets, Inversa bags and Alex totes were selected by Gulbenkian to give new life to their posters.

During one of our visits to the storage space, we discovered another material with potential for reuse, originating from the various lightbox panels used across the Foundation’s buildings. ReCreate redesigned a new model, giving rise to the Jack II bag, which quickly stands out from the shelves (currently available only at the Gulbenkian Museum shop). These are the kinds of challenges that make partnerships richer and more meaningful, allowing us to fulfil our mission piece by piece, square metre by square metre.
This new partnership has brought even more colour into the ReCreate studio—more art, more depth. Each canvas is unique, inviting us to immerse ourselves in extraordinary artists and the rich collections showcased in one of the world’s finest museums.
