Auge – Patterns of the World

ReCreate created Auge — Panel 3 using compact and micro-perforated reclaimed billboard mesh. This combination preserves the material’s lightness and breathability while maintaining a strong structural presence. The panel suggests an upward, intentional climb; its vertical reading becomes essential, guiding the eye from the ground up. The interplay of textures also highlights the handcrafting techniques that define the entire series.

Each of the seven panels in the exhibition pays tribute to ancestral knowledge that fades over time. At the same time, the work functions as a visual diary of the designer, whose passion for pattern-making spans decades. Together, they form a journey through the artist’s personal imagination, exploring formal and chromatic limits. The result is a piece that brings together memory, craftsmanship, and spatial exploration.

In terms of execution, ReCreate cut and assembled the mesh to emphasise its vertical proportion. Stitching and reinforcement techniques were applied to ensure stability without compromising the fluidity of the pattern. The panel therefore offers both scenographic presence and strength — essential qualities for long-term display.

Installation and mounting
