Força – Patterns of the World

ReCreate created Força — Panel 6 using reclaimed compact and micro-perforated billboard mesh. The central motif evokes a spear projecting itself toward a target. The panel therefore guides the eye vertically and invites the visitor to feel, for a moment, “drawn into” the piece. The vertical reading reinforces the idea of persistence and momentum—qualities that the author, Carla Lopes, associates with her own creative path.

Each of the seven panels in the exhibition pays tribute to ancestral handcraft that is slowly being lost. As a whole, the series acts both as an archive and a manifesto. At the same time, the textures and cut lines reveal the manual technique of cutting and stitching that ReCreate applies with precision. The choice of micro-perforated mesh brings lightness and structural presence, balancing transparency and body.

Execution and impact
During the making process, ReCreate cut, intertwined, and assembled the mesh to highlight verticality. Reinforcements were added to ensure stability without compromising the fluidity of the pattern. As a result, the panel offers the necessary resilience for long-term display while maintaining a tactile sensitivity that invites closeness. It stands as both a sculptural object and a field of sensations.

Practical information
The piece can be collected at the ReCreate studio in Lisbon or within the Lisbon municipality (location arranged by email). Mounting is the buyer’s responsibility, although ReCreate can provide an installation quote upon request. This ensures the piece is placed with intention and safety in the exhibition space.
