Inversa Bag

Inversa Bag

Inversa is ReCreate's signature bag, defined by an inverted weaving construction that transforms reclaimed advertising banner into a graphic surface with depth, rhythm and variation. The model can repeat. The surface cannot. Each numbered Inversa is composed individually and finished with leather handles and one interior pocket.

A TECHNIQUE THAT CHANGES THE WAY THE MATERIAL IS READ.

THE INVERTED WEAVE

In the Inversa, weaving is not applied as decoration. The reclaimed advertising banner is cut into strips and interlaced by hand, breaking apart the original printed surface and rebuilding it into a new composition.

The technique creates structure, depth and rhythm while allowing fragments of the original graphics to remain visible in a different relationship. Colour, scale and variation depend entirely on the material available.

The model can repeat. The surface cannot. Each Inversa is resolved individually through the material and the making process.

THE WEAVE IS THE CONSTRUCTION.

WHAT MATTERS IS NOT ONLY THAT SOMETHING CHANGES, BUT HOW IT CHANGES. THROUGH DESIGN, EXISTING MATTER IS REARTICULATED INTO SOMETHING FUNCTIONAL, DISTINCT AND MADE TO REMAIN IN USE.
